Portugal na Grande Guerra

Our sources have told us that Portugal has just joined in fighting The Great War. The official reason that they stated for having joined in the fighting is because they have a historic alliance with England. It was actually a shock to many people that they took as long as they did to join the war, because they had an official alliance with Britain, who has been a major participant in this war. It is said that the only reason Portugal actually entered the war is because Britain.

They officially entered the war soon after Britain told Portugal to confiscate all the German ships that were interned in Portuguese ports. As a reaction to them doing this, Germany declared war on Portugal.

Declaring war was not an easy thing for Portugal to do, as they were fairly unprepared. However, they impressed everyone by overcoming considerable difficulties and creating a well-equipped and well-trained force in only three months. We don't know exactly what will happen because of Portugal coming into the war like this, but it is projected that it won't change anything in a major way; they aren't much of a fighting force and haven't provoked anybody directly.
