Philippines
The Philippines did not play a major part in The Great War, not much of a part at all in fact. In 1917 the Philippine Assembly created the Philippine National Gaurd with the intent to join the American Expeditionary Force. At this time though it was absorbed into the National Army and it had grown to 25,000 soldiers. None of these forces ever saw action though. The first Filipino to die in WWI though was Tomas Claudio, who served in the U.S. Marine Corp. as part of the American Expeditionary Forces in Europe. He died in the Battle of Chateau Thierry in France on June 29, 1918. Overall, the Philippines themself did not play a part in The Great War, but Filipino citizens did.
