RUSSIA IN WW1

Germany in WW1
The Great War has begun. At the Party fraction meeting, on August 3, 1914, there were 15 deputies that decided to oppose the vote. They were led by a man named Karl Liebknecht. But on August 4, 1914, the Social democratic delegation was all for the war with 110 members that all agree. So it was a unanimous vote. Because of this the Party Fraction members decided to go for war instead of against it. There was too many for it when they, as far as they knew, were the only ones against it. Four months after this, on the second of December Liebknecht again was standing up for what he believed in. He held his hand high against the war budget. This was not what really mattered though. All that mattered; in the end was August 4th. It marks the fall of the German Social Democracy and the betrayal of the Second International.

The Great War & The United States-
‘Resuming unrestricted submarine warfare’ (3). Two days later, the Senate supported the proposition, whereas the House was in opposition to declaring war. They later, on December 7th the same year, declared war on Austria/Hungary. When the war began, the Army only consisted of 300,000 men. The United States “would fight under it’s own flag and leadership” (2), meaning they would not conform to either the allies or opposition. Eventually, the war ended on Armistice Day, November 11th, 1918, leaving many hundreds of thousands dead.

日本の大戦争で
Japan has also recently joined in fighting The Great War. However, unlike Portugal, their main reason for joining in the fighting isn't because they are going to help an ally or defend their country. Their main reason for joining the war is to spread their influence to China.
Of course, their official reason that they stated the war wasn't that, but through their actions that we have seen, it has become most apparent that this is their main motivation. Their official reason for being in the war was because, like Portugal, they are allies with the British and Britain sent an assistance request asking them to help them destroy German raiders in and around Chinese waters.
After this, Japan realized that it could start influencing China and possibly start taking it over. When they realized this and thought they had enough military power, they issued to China the infamous twenty-one demands. This set of demands, also known as an ultimatum, basically told China that they had to let Japan use all of its resources, surrender all of their military, and let Japan expand its influence over to China or else there would be "dire consequences."
Presently, China has not responded to these orders and it is said that communication between China and Japan is weak. Japan is also starting to be looked at negatively for issuing these demands. It is rumored that because of this, Japan may withdraw the demands soon.

More on Panama
Panama's Decision to Enter the War, 7 April 1917
"Our indisputable duty in this tremendous hour of history is of a common ally, whose interests and existence as well are linked indissolubly with the United States.
As the situation creates dangers for our country, it is the duty of the Panaman people to cooperate with all the energies and resources they can command for the protection of the canal and to safeguard national territory.
The attitude of the people was foreseen and interpreted faithfully in a resolution unanimously approved by the National Assembly on February 24th, and confirmed by later laws, and the moment has arrived for the Executive to act in accordance with the declarations of the supreme body.
I therefore declare that the Panaman Nation will lend emphatic cooperation to the United States against enemies who execute or attempt to execute hostile acts against the territory of the canal, or in any manner affect or tend to affect the common interests.
The Government will adopt adequate measures in accordance with the circumstances. I consider it the patriotic duty of all Panaman citizens to facilitate the military operations which the forces of the United States undertake within the limits of our country.
Foreigners, resident or transient, will be obliged to submit to the conditions of this declaration." As stated by Ramon Valdez.

(A Cool Picture)
France (And Their French Fries) in The Great War
“After the bloody failure of the spring offensive in 1917, some French units refused to move into front-line positions, and the disobedience spread to more than half the French divisions.” Everyone, like the politicians that deal with security, wanted peace throughout the entire country. But France decided to continue the war. “In July 1918 a unified Allied command, the entry of large numbers of American troops into combat, and the attrition of the German war machine enabled the Allies to mount an offensive that forced the German government to ask for peace.
On Nov. 11, 1918, the newly established German Republic accepted an armistice and on June 28, 1919, signed for a formal peace treaty.” The Germans wanted to pay for any damages, in the French civilian property, that they were apart in. “France was the great Continental victor in the war, but at a staggering cost.”

Portugal na Grande Guerra
Our sources have told us that Portugal has just joined in fighting The Great War. The official reason that they stated for having joined in the fighting is because they have a historic alliance with England. It was actually a shock to many people that they took as long as they did to join the war, because they had an official alliance with Britain, who has been a major participant in this war. It is said that the only reason Portugal actually entered the war is because Britain.
They officially entered the war soon after Britain told Portugal to confiscate all the German ships that were interned in Portuguese ports. As a reaction to them doing this, Germany declared war on Portugal.
Declaring war was not an easy thing for Portugal to do, as they were fairly unprepared. However, they impressed everyone by overcoming considerable difficulties and creating a well-equipped and well-trained force in only three months. We don't know exactly what will happen because of Portugal coming into the war like this, but it is projected that it won't change anything in a major way; they aren't much of a fighting force and haven't provoked anybody directly.
