RUSSIA IN WW1
We entered with the largest army with 1,400,000 but did not figure this was going to be enough so we started to expand. When that was done and over with we had over 5 million soldiers total. When General Sukjominov had to appoint a commander in chief he decided against putting in Tsar Nicholas, who wanted to lead the Russian Army into battle and put his own uncle the Grand Duke Nikolai Nikolaevich in that position. This was not a bad decision but who is to say he is going to be as motivated as Tsar would have been? The Russian army was led into attack against Germany in August. Russia was the one that initiated it and it was the first offensive attack that they had made so far in the war. The first set of troops went into the heart of East Persia and the second went to cut off the Eighth army’s retreat. They won their first offensive battle and truly began there part in the war.

Germany in WW1
December 2, 1914
The Great War has begun. At the Party fraction meeting, on August 3, 1914, there were 15 deputies that decided to oppose the vote. They were led by a man named Karl Liebknecht. But on August 4, 1914, the Social democratic delegation was all for the war with 110 members that all agree. So it was a unanimous vote. Because of this the Party Fraction members decided to go for war instead of against it. There was too many for it when they, as far as they knew, were the only ones against it. Four months after this, on the second of December Liebknecht again was standing up for what he believed in. He held his hand high against the war budget. This was not what really mattered though. All that mattered; in the end was August 4th. It marks the fall of the German Social Democracy and the betrayal of the Second International.

The Great War & The United States-
On April 2nd, 1917, President Woodrow Wilson requested a declaration of war against Germany because of broken diplomatic codes on their part, as well as
‘Resuming unrestricted submarine warfare’ (3). Two days later, the Senate supported the proposition, whereas the House was in opposition to declaring war. They later, on December 7th the same year, declared war on Austria/Hungary. When the war began, the Army only consisted of 300,000 men. The United States “would fight under it’s own flag and leadership” (2), meaning they would not conform to either the allies or opposition. Eventually, the war ended on Armistice Day, November 11th, 1918, leaving many hundreds of thousands dead.

Austria's Involvment in the Great War
Sometimes, arguments and battles are begun because of disagreements; some are because one person is at fault. Others, like World War One, were started because of a man named Gavrilo Princip, a Bosnian-Serb nationalist, who assassinated the Archduke Franz Ferdinand, of Austria, heir of the Austro-Hungarian throne, on June 28th, 1914. Once their heir to the throne was deceased, Austria/Hungary began making commands against the Kingdom of Serbia in a way to ‘repay’ them, in which instigated the Great War when the Kingdom of Serbia did not comply. One month later, Austria declared war on Serbia. A year later, in 1915, Germany and Austria triumphs over Poland and Lithuania, and by September 6th, the Russians lose over one million men. On August 27th, 1916, Romania proclaims war on Austria/Hungary, then after that, the war proceeds on until Armistice arrives on November 11th, 1918, which impedes the Western Front hostilities.
